AbstractRemote sensing on mountainous or rugged terrains require specific radiometric corrections because of topographic and atmospheric effects inserted. A simple method is presented in the context classification and radiometric assessment. A clean atmosphere could be described with dark objects on different highs. With the use of filters over the Digital Elevation Model a description of the geometric interference on each digital number could be used to a topographic equalization of the image. A classification enhancement and radiometric assessment of satellite images over of the Mantiqueira range, southeast Brazil.
